The Story of EDAD

EDAD was founded in 1996 under the leadership of Galip Gürel, Selim Pamuk, Ata Anıl, Gazanfer Gür, Hasan Alkumru, Ahmet Kurtaran, Mete Fanuscu, Engin Taviloğlu and Necdet Yetgin.

In those years, when the concept of a scientific congress was still in its infancy in our country, EDAD's significant initiative brought international-level congresses to life. EDAD's events brought Turkish dentists together with speakers made up of world-renowned, respected scientists — in seminars with high-quality slides, strong presentation techniques and intensive case sharing.

Alongside rapidly advancing technology, EDAD made it its mission to deliver the changes and developments in aesthetic dentistry to its colleagues at the same time and pace as the rest of the world, and has largely achieved this goal.

One of the important privileges EDAD offers its colleagues is that it has shown how knowledge can be transformed into a form usable in clinical practice without compromising academic standards. Largely thanks to EDAD congresses, dentists in our country can now learn not the raw results of scientific research but how to translate that knowledge into practice.

EDAD has shown us that a congress is not only about scientific sharing — having our colleagues enjoy themselves and socialize in the same environment with scientists and peers from different parts of the world is also one of the aims of congresses.

Aware of the importance of continuing professional education from its very early years, EDAD has achieved a quality and quantity that is hard to match in its evening meetings and courses.

An institution that has developed itself over time, EDAD founded the Implant Study Group (İÇG) and Genç EDAD and has achieved various successes. It became a member of the International Federation of Esthetic Dentistry.
