Prof. Dr. Safa Tuncer “Dental Adhesive Systems: Which? When? How?“
In this section of the Adhesive Up To Date seminar, dental adhesive systems will be addressed with a current approach through the questions of which, when, and how they should be used. The success of restorations in adhesive dentistry depends on the correct material selection, appropriate indication, and complete application protocol. The presentation will compare the basic features, advantages, limitations, and clinical usage areas of total-etch, self-etch, and universal adhesive systems. The effect of the different structural characteristics of enamel and dentin on the bonding mechanism will be explained; critical application steps such as moisture control, surface preparation, etching time, solvent removal, and light polymerization will be emphasized. Additionally, adhesive selection criteria in different clinical situations such as direct composite restorations, indirect restoration cementation, and cervical lesions will be evaluated with examples. The aim of the seminar is not only for participants to recognize the materials but also to determine the most appropriate adhesive strategy according to the clinical scenario. Thus, a scientifically based practical roadmap for long-lasting, sealed, and aesthetic restorations will be presented.

About Prof. Dr. Safa Tuncer

Prof. Dr. Uzay Özkoç Vural “Injection Technique Applications in Anterior Teeth“
The injection technique in direct composite veneer restorations in the anterior region is a contemporary clinical approach that ensures the standardization of restorative procedures and enhances morphological accuracy. It allows the transfer of the pre-planned anatomical form to the clinical environment with minimal operator dependency through transparent silicone indices.
Correct case selection, appropriate material choice, and controlled execution of each stage of the clinical application are the fundamental factors determining the success of the technique. The use of high-filler flowable composites offers significant advantages in terms of both adaptation and mechanical performance.
In the clinical application process; isolation, index placement, controlled injection of the material, light polymerization, and finishing & polishing procedures will be addressed as critical steps directly affecting the success of the restoration and will be explained in detail.
In this context, the clinical performance, indications, and limitations of the injection technique in anterior direct veneer restorations are evaluated in light of current scientific evidence.

Prof. Dr. Pınar Yılmaz Atalı “Whitening and Minimal Invasive Applications“
Among the minimally invasive treatment options, the indications, contraindications, treatment planning, approaches to the combined use of these treatments, the materials used, and the role of remineralization agents in teeth whitening, resin infiltration, and microabrasion applications will be discussed. The contents and usage methods of over-the-counter products preferred for teeth whitening and the effects of the applied treatments on the hard tissues of the teeth will also be evaluated.
In diagnosis and treatment follow-up, fluorescence measurement methods used alongside clinical and radiological examinations will be examined. Treatment recommendations based on current scientific data will be presented with clinical cases. Additionally, the protocols followed in minimally invasive approaches applied alongside whitening treatment will be shared, supported by both clinical and laboratory studies.
