From Diagnosis to Treatment of Jaw Joint Disorders
The treatment of jaw joint disorders begins with an accurate diagnosis. This training will cover what needs to be done for a correct diagnosis in detail, from joint examination to differential diagnoses. Subsequently, treatment protocols for common diseases encountered in clinical practice will be shared individually. Medical treatment, physical therapy applications, and splint treatments, which can be considered as phase 1 treatments for patients, will be explained, followed by a discussion of phase 2 treatments.

The Importance of Occlusion in the Treatment of Temporomandibular Disorders
The temporomandibular joint (TMJ) is one of the most complex joint structures in the human body and is directly interacting with occlusion, which is the relationship of the teeth closing. The functional balance of the chewing system depends on the harmony of this triad structure consisting of teeth, chewing muscles, and temporomandibular joints. One of the topics advocated by many practitioners is that occlusal irregularities, premature contacts, or vertical dimension losses cause deviations from the ideal position of the lower jaw during closure, creating pathological loads on the joint disc and surrounding tissues, and this condition, through microtraumas, predisposes to disc displacements, increased intra-articular pressure, and consequently degenerative joint diseases. The summary of the literature on this subject, along with the transfer of clinical experience, will question the impact of occlusion in this regard.
