Aesthetic Dentistry; Back to the Future
We are delighted to host the 13th World Congress of the International Federation of Esthetic Dentistry (IFED), celebrating IFED's 30th anniversary, in Istanbul, Turkey, from April 25-27, 2024, under the auspices of the Turkish Academy of Aesthetic Dentistry (EDAD).
The program, featuring world-renowned speakers from around the globe, promises to address the current state of aesthetic dentistry treatment, which has evolved from initiatives launched by groundbreaking clinicians over the past few decades to what we now consider the gold standard in interdisciplinary dentistry, and to look ahead to where we might be heading in the foreseeable future (are we already there?).
Spanish-American philosopher Jorge Agustin Nicolas Ruiz de Santayana y Borras, better known as George Santayana, is recognized for his famous writing over a century ago:
"Those who cannot remember the past are condemned to repeat it"... and protocols have been modified to be deemed successful when clinical protocols fall short of the ideal; as science and clinical research continue to pave the way for improving the quality of dental care our profession provides to our patients, our current gold standards are constantly being evaluated and tested.
We promise that the social program organized by the host organization, EDAD, will highlight the wonders of modern Istanbul while remembering the past of this beautiful country.
