MINIMALLY INVASIVE TREATMENT OF ANTERIOR SINGLE TOOTH DEFICIENCIES WITH DIRECT METHODS: FIBER-REINFORCED ADHESIVE BRIDGES
Anterior tooth losses due to congenital reasons, trauma, or periodontal issues cause aesthetically and phonetically unpleasant problems for patients. In such cases, all-ceramic or metal-supported ceramic bridges and implant-supported crowns can be alternative treatment options. However, it is crucial for patients to immediately regain function along with aesthetic appearance and phonation at a reasonable cost. Therefore, significant advancements in adhesive dentistry in recent years have enabled dentists to use resin-bonded, aesthetically pleasing, cost-effective, and minimally invasive alternative restoration options. In recent years, the frequent use of fiber-reinforced composite (FRC) materials has provided clinicians with the opportunity to create metal-free, highly aesthetic restorations that can be applied in a single session and bonded with resin materials. FRCs are reversible restorations that can be bonded to tooth tissues using adhesive techniques for single tooth deficiencies, applied with minimal or no preparation on supporting teeth, economical, easily repairable, and often completed chairside in a single session. These restorations, which can also be prepared indirectly in the laboratory, meet patients' aesthetic and functional expectations as both short-term and long-term permanent restorations. This presentation will share various cases where single tooth deficiencies are treated using direct methods with fiber networks.
