PROSTHETIC TREATMENT APPROACHES IN WORN DENTITION

The rehabilitation of severely worn teeth poses a significant clinical challenge, especially when the restorative area is insufficient. Creating restorations that meet aesthetic, occlusal, and functional parameters is essential for long-term success. The etiology of tooth wear is multifactorial, and the role of bruxism is unknown. Clinical controlled studies on restorative and prosthetic approaches for various clinical conditions caused by wear are limited in number and quality. Similarly, the striking lack of evidence on the long-term outcomes of treatment methods and materials necessitates caution in the clinical decision-making process. Despite these observations, clinicians have traditionally offered and continue to offer rehabilitative strategies ranging from comprehensive prostheses to increasingly relying on adhesive techniques to manage their patients' worn teeth. This conference will provide information on minimally invasive prosthetic restorations in worn dentition.

CRITERIA FOR AN AESTHETIC SMILE DESIGN, DIGITAL PLANNING AND ANALOG WORKFLOW

In dentistry, planning is the first and most important step of the treatment process. With correct planning and the use of technology, it is possible to envision the outcome at the beginning and create its simulation. Smile design fundamentally helps us advance the further steps of treatment planning in a multidisciplinary manner. Evaluating the outcome with the team and our patients and charting our treatment course should be among our goals.
Smile design suitable for the case to be revised through digital libraries of natural tooth forms is superimposed on the 3D screen-transferred image with the CAD/CAM system, and the application of the designed teeth is discussed with examples. Subsequently, the designs are tested and workflow stages are followed and discussed in cases where models are obtained by 3D printing.
