Seminar Description

Treatment planning, material selection, and clinical applications are stages present in all restorative treatments. Neglecting these stages can result in the failure of the treatment offered to the patient. Today, the availability of all-ceramics, adhesive systems, composite resins, and cements with different properties and contents is advantageous for clinicians in terms of alternative use, but the presence of numerous materials they are not familiar with can cause concern. Knowing the basic properties and content of each material, as well as correctly applying the material-specific sensitive application techniques, will reveal the maximum potential of the material and ensure successful results. The seminar will discuss the material selection criteria and clinical application recommendations required to achieve a successful restoration.

Learning Objectives

1. To recognize adhesive systems and know which adhesive technique enhances bonding to dental tissues in direct composite restoration applications. Additionally, to understand the importance of the light polymerization process during the application of composite materials and its role in the success of restorative treatment.

2. To review monolithic zirconia and all-ceramic materials with different generations for successful and long-lasting indirect restorations and to establish criteria for the selection, use, and bonding properties of these modern ceramics.
