Current Materials and Application Techniques for Fixed Prosthetic Treatments

The treatment of TMD is carried out with occlusal splints and supportive therapies before irreversible interventions are made in the mouth. This allows for testing occlusal stabilization and optimal tooth contacts in the mouth without causing permanent changes in patients. However, after symptoms and healing in the related tissues, some changes may occur in the dental relationships of patients. Addressing this misalignment will be valid under conditions where patients experience functional discomfort. These interventional treatments, referred to as Phase 2 treatments, can sometimes be applied in combination or individually, ranging from orthodontics to prosthetic applications.
